Youth Leadership Oklahoma Announces Eleventh Annual Class

Leadership Oklahoma recently announced the selection of Youth Leadership Oklahoma Class XI.

"Leadership Oklahoma is very excited about the 50 people chosen for this year's program," said Lee Anne Stone, Youth Leadership Oklahoma Coordinator. "YLOK Class XI is an outstanding blend of student leaders selected from across the state.”

A class is selected each year through a competitive process based on proven leadership, geographic, ethnic and cultural diversity. Selected students participate in a week-long trip across the state of Oklahoma where they learn about Oklahoma’s history, culture, issues and leaders where they begin to develop a greater understanding and appreciation for our state. YLOK was created in 2001 with the mission to develop in young leaders who feel hope, pride and a responsibility for Oklahoma’s future. Over 500 students have participated in this one of a kind program. In 2008 Leadership Oklahoma was awarded the 2008 Innovator Award from the Southern Growth Policies Board. Leadership Oklahoma’s CEO is Dr. Ann Ackerman and the Youth Coordinator for Leadership Oklahoma is Lee Anne Stone.
