Youth Leadership Oklahoma Class X Graduates Announced
OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla., June 18, 2010 — 51 upcoming high school seniors from across the state graduated from Youth Leadership Oklahoma’s Class X on Friday, June 18, in Oklahoma City.
These outstanding students were selected based on demonstrated leadership in their schools and communities. Leadership Oklahoma created YLOK with a mission to develop young leaders who feel hope, pride and responsibility for Oklahoma’s future.
The weeklong program began in Oklahoma City and concluded at the Phillips Pavilion on the grounds of the governor’s mansion. Other locations visited throughout the week included Norman, Lawton, Ardmore, Tulsa, Stillwater, and Enid. At each location, YLOK Class X learned about Oklahoma’s resources, issues and treasures, met with state leaders and further developed their own leadership skills.
“This is an outstanding group of young leaders,” said Bill Andoe, Chair of the Youth Leadership Oklahoma Program Committee. “It is clear that Oklahoma has a lot to look forward to as this generation steps forward to take leadership roles in their state and community in the years to come.”
