Congratulations to Ranell Brown (Class XX) and Andrea Chancellor (Class XX) and their committee for an outstanding two-day event! The Thursday night dinner at the Oklahoma Heritage Association was lovely. Shannon Nance (Class XXI) and the Heritage Association were perfect hosts in their newly renovated space. The Friday conference at the Skirvin Hotel was stimulating and thought provoking. Dr. Rufus Fears, OU Professor, started the conference with Oklahoma: The Past. Then Bill Burgess (Class IX) moderated a panel with Congressman Dan Boren (Class XVII), Mayor General Rita Aragon and Burns Hargis on Oklahoma: The Present. The luncheon speaker was Secretary of Commerce and Tourism Natalie Shirley who gave her insight into Oklahoma: The Future. Plans are under way for next year’s conference scheduled for September 11-12, 2008. Russ Florence (Class XVIII) and Clytie Bunyan-Connell (Class XX) will be the co-chairs for the 2008 conference.
