It is held every spring month of April at the beautiful Honor Heights Park where visitors can view the Azalea blooms. The park is situated on top of a hill with a good view of the whole city. It is the perfect venue for the festival because of the park’s main feature of 625 varieties of the Azalea plant with more than 30,000 flowers decorating Honor Heights Park’s landscaped gardens. Other activities related to the festival are also held around the city. Some of these activities include a parade at downtown Muskogee, a barbecue cooking contest and a Chili cook-off.
